Prof. Hala Hasan al-Banna, daughter of Founder of Muslim Brotherhood Hasan al-Banna, passed away at a hospital in Istanbul at the age of 76 on December 25. She was a Professor of Paediatrics and Child Health at Al-Azhar Medical University in Egypt and later a consultant at a hospital in Türkiye.
Her funeral prayer was held at Eyüp Sultan Mosqueand she was buried in the Mihrişah Sultan Cemetery in Eyüpsutan.
Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Mustafa Şentop, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Science Dissemination Foundation Bilal Erdoğan, Mayor of Eyüpsultan Deniz Köken, Mayor of EsenlerTevfikGöksu, former Rize deputies ŞevkiYılmaz, CevatAkşit and NurettinYıldızattended her funeral. Many important personalities from the exile/migrating members of the Muslim Brotherhood were also present.
