Prohibited drugs are being sold fearlessly on a dozen of medical stores under Kakarahua village of Siddarth Nagar district, Uttar Pradesh. The government has prohibited the use of these drugs and allowed it only with the written prescription of a physician. This illegal act is on full swing under the nose of concerned authorities. Youngsters are using these drugs as intoxicants and thus the number of drug-addicts in the village is increasing every day. The use and sale of these drugs may lead to six-month imprisonment and/or a fine of Rs. 10,000 or both according to Narcotics Drugs Act. Also most of the medical stores and clinics are running without licence in the area.
