Promote Value-Based Politics

This is apropos of the article ‘Political Significance of Muslim Votes’ (Radiance, 8-14 December). Granted, the Muslim votes can play a decisive role in several constituencies and can change the ‘fate’ of a political party. This is apropos of the article ‘Political Significance of Muslim Votes’ (Radiance, 8-14 December). Granted, the Muslim votes can play a decisive role in several constituencies and can change the ‘fate’ of a political party. But, instead of fanning these communal and narrow feelings, one should promote a fair and ideology-based agenda for politics. The ‘all Muslim talk’ may or may not unite the community but it will surely bring the opponents on one platform. If Muslims are downtrodden then why do they not think of Adivasis and others who are equally subjugated and oppressed? Rather than thinking of walking alone in the corridor of politics, the Muslims should join hands with other oppressed sections of the society as well and promote value-based politics.
