It’s really shocking to see people like Raj Thackeray questioning the Bachans. The act of vandalism at the Theatre & Pratiksha raises questions over the age-long definition of patriotism, where you are not supposed to have any affinity to the place where you were born and brought up. The goons of Raj’s party MNS, moved around the city of Mumbai, thrashed innocent people belonging to Uttar Pradesh and other states. They vilified the cosmopolitan city. Are these goons the certifying authorities to decide the number of population dwelling in the city? Are these goons above the law, and entitled to vandal even in the presence of police. The responsibility lies with those who are supposed to ensure respect and adherence to the rule of law. How the government which gets tough with the farmers who fail to pay their electricity dues, cannot act against those who ransack. Hence both the MNS goons and the law enforcing personnel who chose to keep quiet are to be held responsible for maligning the image of democracy in India.
