Maulana Syed Rabe Hasani Nadavi was re-elected unanimously as the president of All India Muslim Personal Law Board in a three-day general meeting held at Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, from 22 to 24 March. Soon after his election as the president of the board, Maulana announced to retain all the previous office bearers to their respective posts. There is a little change in the figure of its members. The AIMPLB have 251 total members; 149 among them are Meeqati (on term basis) while 102 are regular. There are total 11 new faces among members.
Meanwhile, addressing the 23rd meeting of AIMPLB at Nan Kheda Stadium, Ujjain on 24 March, Maulana Nadvi said it was a duty of every Muslim to promote Islamic values. He further added that a Muslim can die of hunger but cannot compromise with the teachings of Islam.
