Clouds of death have surrounded Gaza once again. The indiscriminate air bombing and using American supplied F-16 aircraft has led to massive loss of life and property. Nearly 500 civilians have been killed in the incessant and relentless rains of bombs. Naval attacks have also been initiated. People all over the world are perturbed at this horrendous exhibition of brute force against the ingenuous, unarmed and starving civilians. As an Indian I am anxious at the response of the propagator of values of independent foreign policy, human rights, social justice – in short non-alignment; what is the cause of our criminal reticence over Israeli government’s atrocious attacks. The diplomatic ties with Israel need to be abandoned at once as Israel has proved that it is a terrorist nation that does not believe in peace and tranquillity. A peaceful west-Asia is only in the interest of India. The role that UN is playing is also shocking; UN must remember that it was the same attitude of appeasing powerful nations that led to the failure of League of Nations. It is high time that people all over the world unanimously and vociferously raised their voice against this savagery and put pressures on their respective governments to take a harsh stand against Israel.
