Raj’s Goon Culture

Raj Thackeray is known for all wrong reasons. Sometime he objects the word ‘Bombay’ in the film Wake up Sid, and calls Karan Johar, asks the industry to give things in written, while sometime MNS activists beat sadhus for their remarks against Raj Thackeray.

The recent film Jhenda has been in news for its Thackeray angle. His goons go and slap a seasoned politician in the presence of media and everyone in the house. The Supreme Court though has ordered for shifting to a trial court in the Capital the seven cases registered against MNS chief Raj Thackeray in Jharkhand and Bihar in connection with his hate speeches against north Indians, but it is still not sure whether he will take these cases seriously.  Ironically, he has been posed by the media as a new crusader whose only business is to protect his so-called Marathi culture. He has made headlines in various newspapers and TV channels in the past, thus provoking himself to perpetrate such crimes on regular basis in order to emerge as a bigger Rakhwala than the Shiv Sena claims to be of the Marathi Manoos. And the most serious problem lies with the NCP-Congress government that has allowed him to carry forward the legacy of goondaism and goon culture in the society just for their own interest.
