Amidst the growing demand to hang the rapists, a session court in Bareilly has awarded capital punishment to Ashok, a person who had raped and murdered a minor Dalit girl three years ago. Special judge, UC Pandey, convicted the accused Ashok based on the witnesses and proofs produced against him in the court and awarded him death punishment. The Judge said that Ashok has done an inhuman act and he deserved this at first hand.
According to the prosecution, Ashok had raped the girl in Bhota locality in 2009 and murdered her. Then he buried her body in Budhawali village near Bareilly. Later the body was exhumed out from the grave and sent for medical examination.
