It’s rather ridiculous that even in her apology Sania has passed a reckless remark about Muslims and their faith. Who says that women are not allowed to enter the precincts of a mosque? Islam has placed no such restriction provided women are dressed in a modest manner. Women used to enter and pray in mosques freely during the lifetime of Muhammad, the Prophet of Islam (peace and blessings of Allah be with him). The same is the practice in many other countries of the Middle East, South East Asia and even the US and Europe. In India this may be the rule in many mosques due to certain other considerations or false assumptions but it has nowhere been sanctioned in Islam. Also women move about freely inside the premises of Makkah Masjid in Hyderabad but here was the case of an ad shoot without obtaining proper prior permission. It would be better if Sania does some reading before passing such insane remarks.
