Focus Issue on Educational and Career Guidance

As a lecturer by profession, I keep looking forward for handy materials on education and career guidance which will be helpful to guide the young minds. The focus issue of Radiance Viewsweekly edition of 24 June 2023 titled ‘Educational and Career Guidance’ was a mini treasure in this regard.

It covered almost every basic topic pertaining to education – articles on Establishing Centre for Career and Guidance in Every District, New Career Trends Shaping the Future, Professional Education in India, Importance of Aptitude Testing in Career Guidance, Abroad Studies, etc. were truly resourceful.

I think this focus issue of Radiance Viewsweekly should be made available on every book stand, readers cubicles, school and college libraries. Congratulations on your efforts :)

Artificial Intelligence

With chemical and biological weapons and artificial intelligence, advanced weapons can be created to wipe out entire humanity. Forget 3rd but if there is a 4th world war we will only fight with sticks and stones. Peace is the most powerful weapon in the world.

It is said Artificial intelligence is going to replace human jobs and is future of the world. Can you imagine 11 robots a side playing IPL cricket match? Or man vs robots match? The day is not far. With robots serving you in hotels and bank, writing poetry with emotions too is not a distant dream. But let us understand technology is a double-edged sword. New technology also brings with it unimaginable dangers. The mistake is we believe we have understood it completely. Atom bombs Dynamites and Drones are used to fight wars. So, can AI create improved weapons leading to more wars and crimes? Freedom without discipline is country without defence.

When Shammi Kapoor sang Ai Ai Ya Suku Suku in the movie Junglee (1961), did he predict AI will rule the world?  He sang Chahe koi mujhejungleekahe … Yahoo!

Sabeer Bhatia named his company Yahoo.

Bollywood’s Shammi Kapoor can be called Nostradamus of internet technology!

NDA Ally in Manipur Snaps Ties with the BJP

Protesting against the ethnic violence in Manipur, which has plagued the northeastern state for the past three months, resulting in the loss of over 160 lives, Kuki People’s Alliance (KPA), NDA’s ally in Manipur, has withdrawn support from the BJP-led state government. KPA president Tongmang Haokip wrote a letter to Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey, apprising her of the party’s decision to snap ties with the BJP. Manipuris are congratulating Haokip for taking this bold step.

KPA’s move does not bode well for the NDA in other States as well as at the Centre. People supporting BJP after all have as much conscience as KPA president Tongmang Haokip has. They may respond to the call of their conscience sooner or later. Any amount of money or threat would not deter them.
