Impact of Ban on Alcohol in Bihar
The impact of ban on Alcohol in Bihar by Nitish government is tremendous because of its implementation and monitoring. Quite interesting and laudable was the news of a woman who had left her husband’s home because her husband was alcoholic has now returned to her husband’s house after having seen the  kind of impact in the state after the ban on alcohol.  Various Muslim organisations have praised Nitish government and further demanded from other states to think in the direction of banning alcohol in the state. Jamaat has on many occasions demanded complete ban on alcohol across India.
Some good stories from where alcohol has been banned should be narrated in order to encourage others to follow it. I have come to know from one of my friends that even the habitual drunkards are now happy because very soon they have realised the good effects in them after giving up the habit of drinking. Many have noticed that the consumption and sale of cold drinks has gone up and most of them have found cold drink as a possible substitute of alcohol. Ban of alcohol in Bihar will have long lasting impact on the people and overall family system and family values. It will encourage cordial atmosphere in houses, on pavements and markets which for anybody would be a noticeable change.

Illusion or Rise of Trump
This refers to cover story The Role of Media in the Rise of Trump published in Radiance Viewsweekly (17-23 April). The story is informative and thought-provoking. While going through the article, it gave the impression that media has made Trump a larger than life figure and his rise so far is credited to the role of media which is reasonably true and sounds correct explanation of the situation. But at the same time it also reminds us of the role played by India during 2014 Lok Sabha Polls. Here too the media became the campaign manager of Narendra Modi and did everything to make his persona acceptable to masses either deceptively or by rhetoric of false promises and by creating renewed hope and aspiration in the people for a better tomorrow. The people of India now feel cheated. Will America learn some lessons from here that hate polity may not be sustainable? It is neither good for India nor for America nor for the people there.

Violence will Harm Progress
The general impression we can gather from the ruling and functioning of the NDA government that it is neither trying to control violence nor discouraging all those who believe in violence and hate polity. The present government is trying to capture every moment to raise contentious issue or issues that can divide society and communities. Let us hope that opposition will realise their duty and their responsibilities towards people and the country and work accordingly. Presently the government is ruling the country unopposed because opposition remains a divided house battling charges of corruption every now and then.

Beef Ban
It was quite surprising that the Government of Maharashtra has lifted ban on beef but the ban on slaughter remains. This means if one wants to have it, he can get it from other states. Will transportation of beef from one place to another not be another reason for violence? All know that politics behind beef ban is more political and less religious. In the past non-Muslims used to eat beef. Some of them still do that. Many of them speak in its favour. I hope lifting of ban on beef will help bring down the number of violent incidents which resulted out of it in one way or the other.
