Minority Certificate for Minorities in Assam

Last year, the Government of Assam took a decision in its cabinet meeting to issue minority certificate to the six religious minority communities – Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain and Parsi – living in the state as permanent residents and accordingly Assam Chief Minister Dr.HemantaBiswa Sarma announced it. Many people had hailed the decision. But the government has not issued Minority Certificate to them so far.

How will the minority certificate benefit the minority communities in the state? How will they be eligible to secure such certificate? We are not still aware of it.

So, the government should kindly clarify it and immediately take steps necessary to issue Minority Certificate to these six religious minority communities in the state so that it at least enables them to identify themselves as respectable minorities in the state.

CommunalViolence in Various States

It was reported in the print and social media that senior Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Rauthas levelled serious allegations recently against the BJP that thesaffron party has been planning and sponsoring riots in the country and has even set up a wing to trigger such incidents across India. Has BJPformed a new wing and riots were created through this wing?

He also accused the BJP of a conspiracy to incite riots all over India where they are weak, in therun up to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections for its political interest. The BJP’s strategy has to stoke riots all over the country till2024 elections were due and then make it‘an excuse’ to postpone the polls.

And Amit Shah is the Home Minister, he should hang the rioters. Why are they waiting for2024? Who has stopped them from taking action in Karnataka and Bengal, said Raut.

We shouldn’t Trust ChatGPTBlindly

The study of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is gaining ground. ChatGPT and other generative AI chatbots rely on a “conversational interface” to present their responses to users. These chatbots are being trained to mimic human-like conversations with the help of vast datasets from the internet. However, despite their ability to produce the statistically most likely response to a prompt, their answers are not based on any understanding of the context or the accuracy of the information provided. In some cases, chatbots may even admit their limitations and fail to provide detailed responses.

This interface uses context cues and clever tactics to keep the conversation flowing, even though the chatbots do not have the capability to think, comprehend or understand as humans do.

The chatbots are trained to use human-like tricks of rhetoric to appear trustworthy, competent and understanding beyond their capabilities. However, this can lead to at least two problems – incorrect output and people believing the output to be correct. On one hand, the chatbots may produce incorrect responses, but the conversational interface presents these outputs with the same level of confidence as it does with correct ones. While on the other, people tend to react to the chatbots as if they were engaging in an actual conversation, even though the chatbots do not have any understanding or comprehension. This discrepancy can lead to a misleading impression of the chatbots’ capabilities and reliability.

The problem of AI ChatGPT and conversational interfaces is compounded by the fact that they can blend actual facts with made-up ones, leading to what computer scientists call “AI hallucination.” So, despite all these scientific advances, we must not trust ChatGPT and other chatbots.
