Is This Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Vishwas?

The RSS founder Golwalkar once said, “I am ready to serve the British throughout my life. But, I don’t want a freedom which gives equal rights to Dalits, Backwards and Muslims.” The Modi Government, it seems, has been trying to implement his ideology in letter and spirit. Muslims have been continuously targeted on one pretext or another. The BJP-ruled states have been passing stringent laws against love-jihad and cow slaughter just to target the Muslims.

Since the passage of love-jihad law in UP on an average every day a case has been falsely registered in UP. The so-called moderate Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is targeting Muslims in his state palpably under pressure from RSS and other Sangh Parivar people. Mosques have been attacked. Muslim houses have been demolished. Instead of booking cases against the culprits, the dispensation has been booking cases against the victim Muslims.

The Prime Minister is in deep slumber. So far he has not uttered a word against these happenings. This shows that they are having the tacit support of the government. Has the PM forgotten his slogan “sabka saath, sabka vikas and sabka vishwas”?

The civil society people, secular-minded right-thinking people should raise their voice against these happenings.

Who is Patriot?

RSS chief Mr. Mohan Bhagwat claims that “Patriotism is the basic character of Hindus.” (Hindustan Times: Jan 01,2021) Why does this man again and again speak about “Patriotism” when even a layman knows all religions teach patriotism to their respective adherents. Maybe, RSS wants to claim authority over “Patriotism” and thereby judge who is patriot and who isn’t?

Let me define who may be a patriot. A person who loves his beloved country and wants to contribute to its progress is a patriot. It means while claiming one’s right, one must discharge his duties and love his fellowmen.

Now let me ask RSS chief a few questions:

1) Who killed Gandhiji, and why?

2) Idols from temples were stolen in the decade 1970, not even a single Muslim was involved. How does he term it?

3) Nirav Modi and Vijay Mallya looted Indian wealth? How does he define it?

4) Muslims were lynched. How does he remember it?

5) True history of India is twisted. What term does he use for it?

6) RSS-backed government at the centre has inflicted major damage to our country’s economy. How does he term it?

Wake up in the New Year 2021

As in other countries, in India too  it was Covid 19 pandemic that seemed to dominate 2020. The coronavirus has infected nearly 10.3 million Indians so far and claimed the lives of over 149000 people, while our doctors, nurses and health workers worked day and night  to treat the patients, even at the risk  to their own  lives but the state and central governments failed on  multiple fronts. An unplanned  nationwide lockdown left millions of labourers without shelter, and rendered them jobless and hungry overnight. In the beginning of 2020 it was the nationwide protests against CAA and at the end of the year lakhs of farmers started sitting in protests, braving the harsh winter. Over all 2020 will be remembered as a year that saw India plunge into despair.

It is on a sombre note that India has ushered in the new year. There is palpable anxiety over what 2021 holds. Will  our elected representatives  wake up in the new year to lead India’s fight back to recover lost ground in the country’s  long battle against hunger, unemployment?  A new beginning  is inevitable.
