Distribution of booklets on Islam among saints and devotees and providing assistance to the needy persons at Mahakumbh (Inside India, Radiance 24 Feb-2 March) is really an exemplary move and the courage and enthusiasm of those youth are extremely laudable. It needs to be carried forward so as to let communal harmony prevail in the country. Islam preaches love and communal harmony.
In the same column, the story of Shabbir, who had been in jail for about 5 years before being acquitted in 2011 and now cures rheumatism to earn his livelihood deserves some praise. Leave the issue of legality or otherwise of his arrest aside, his post-release bid to make best of his time is really worth praising.
