I beg to invite your kind attention to the articles written about respected Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Saheb by eminent writers Dr. M. Iqbal Siddiqui, Mr. Abdul Bari Masoud and Mr. Naushad Khan vide Issue No. 40 of Radiance dated 11th January 2025.
A controversy has sparked after Union Home Minister Mr. Amit Shah made extremely insulting remarks about Dr. Ambedkar, a man of par excellence of international stature.
All the learned writers have done evaluation of Dr. Ambedkar minutely and tried to prove that Brahminism is basically against Ambedkarism. Compliments to them for their in-depth analyses of Dr. Ambedkar.
I am also glad to note that you have printed the photograph of Dr. Ambedkar on the cover page. This sends a positive message that Muslims are blood brothers of oppressed society. They will always stand by them in their hour of need. Muslims are NOT against Ambedkarism.
In brief, it can be summarised that Dr. Ambedkar was against “Brahminism” regardless of political party. He minced no words to criticise this ailment. His main concern was for the people who were at the lowest level of the social ladder. He was deeply worried about the oppression, persecution and marginalisation of this segment of society.
Dr. Ambedkar’s name will be written in golden letters in history for his immense contribution for voiceless and wretched people.

A Great Benefactor
The greatest gift a common man received from the former Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh was the Right to Information – which, as the fate would have it, became a tool to unravel many a misdemeanour committed by some of his ministers during his tenure leading to the collapse of the UPA-2 government. Unfortunately, since coming to power in 2014, the BJP is leaving no stone unturned to dilute the RTI Act-2005.
Another milestone achieved by Dr.Singh was the launching of MGNREGA, a scheme for most vulnerable people living in rural India by providing 100 days of guaranteed wage Employment in a year to every household. This has inarguably proved to be the saviour of people in remote parts of the country during the Covid-19 pandemic. But the Modi government is showing step-motherly attitude towards this social welfare measure year after year. This year’s allocation for MGNREGA is just 1.78% of the total budgetary allocation which marks a ten-year low in the scheme’s funding.

Late Dr. Manmohan Singh
Arrogance often grips some leaders as they climb the political ladder. But not former prime minister Dr Manmohan Singh, who passed away recently. The humble and graceful Sardar, never let the arrogance of power get to his head and always maintained a polite and dignified demeanour, winning the praise of leaders across the world. He lived and grew in the years after Partition which must have etched many a painful memory on his mind.
It could be because of this that the interests of the poor always remained close to his heart. India has lost a magnificent politician, economist and a great soul who endeared himself to all those who got to know him.

Differentiate Only in Maths, Not People
“Do not Differentiate unless it’s calculus” written on science student’s T-shirt. India or Bharat we are one country. It is Integration not differentiation. Anything which unites is strength and that which divides is weakness. Remember the school days Hindi song “Hind Deshkenivasisabhi Jan ekhai, Rang roopveshbashachaheanekhai”.
