The 2024 Verdict has taught lessons to the ruling party and all others concerned. It has taught the politicians that the people of the country cannot be taken lightly. They are the real rulers of the country and in spite of the worst conditions and the might of the ruling dispensation, they wisely asserted their final say. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had to admit it in clear words when he said in G-7 Summit that India’s election transparency is praiseworthy. In spite of allegations of use of money, muscle power and false propaganda, people have made it clear that people’s will is supreme, especially Mr. Modi should remember that no one should expect that he can carry away the day with dictatorial powers and anti-people schemes. The hard lesson taught to the ruling dispensation is that people’s will is final. They can make or mar the fate of any ruling clique or regime.
Another lesson written on the wall is that in spite of their various shortcomings, the voters have become at least this much wise that they do not like arrogant leaders, prejudiced minds and divisive narratives. They have clearly rejected uncivilized narratives and irresponsible talks of Hinds versus Muslims. They are mature enough to assert that “we may be Hindus, Muslims and followers of many other religions but we are brothers and believe in building on human fraternity. That is why even the much-hyped construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya could not hoodwink the electorate of Ayodhya.
People are at their wits’ end because of ever-increasing and skyrocketing inflation, joblessness and unemployment. They have practically told the rulers that their daily bread and daily woes must be addressed and no false religiosity can satisfy them.
Despite the propaganda of godi media, people, especially educated people, have taught a lesson to the ruling BJP that their day-to-day problems are the priority for them. The educated people are interested in rule of law, independence of judiciary, quick delivery of justice, and non-communal approach in all affairs related to people.
People have deeply realized the ill effects of pampering of crony capitalists, increasing gap between the haves and the have-nots and concentration of wealth in fewer hands at the cost of the wellbeing of large segments of common people.
The road ahead for India and especially the present ruling coalition is full of dangers. Anything may happen to the coalition. Therefore, for India’s safety and also for the smooth sailing of the government, Mr. Modi should do immense heart-searching and course correction. No communalism, no trickery, no hoodwinking, no false promises or fake propaganda. Hard work, sincerity, honesty, acceptance of wrongdoings. This will save the country, strengthen the party and ensure smooth sailing and secure future for India. This is the last chance to save India and ensure a bright future for Indians. The BJP must listen to what Mohan Bhagwat has advised and what the well-wishing advisers are telling the BJP.
