Jamiat-Ulema-i-Hind general secretary Maulana Mahmood A. Madani is right in saying that as Taslima Nasreen has withdrawn the objectionable remarks from her book Dwikhandita, Muslims should forgive and allow her to live anywhere in India in keeping with the tradition of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be with him), well known for forgiving and forgetting even his bitter enemies.
We welcome this statement from the chief of the Jamiat. Leaders should show the right path to the people as the Maulana has done and not be instrumental for any meaningless conflict.
