ROLE MODEL OF TOLERANCE

A Swiss official has urged European countries to adopt the UAE’s exemplary model in dealing with a diverse mix of nationalities living on its land. Hasni Abidi, Director of the Study and Research Centre for the Arab and Mediterranean World in Geneva, said the UAE presents a role model 
where hundreds of thousands of workers of different nationalities and faiths are working. He said all live under the same roof in the UAE that guarantees religious freedom, religious and legal tolerance, equality and equal opportunities. Some foreigners are holding leading positions in critical entities in the UAE. In contrast in France, he said, a Muslim or an Arab should obtain security clearance from intelligence service if he wants to work as a taxi driver.
