The criminal, anti-national character of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) once again came to light when the name of a very senior leader of the organisation, Indresh Kumar, figured in the chargesheet filed by the Rajasthan Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) against five accused in the 2007 Ajmer blast. Though Indresh has not been formally made an accused in the case as further investigation is underway, the 806-page chargesheet filed by the ATS in the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Jagendra Kumar Jain on October 22 mentions that the RSS leader was present at a secret meeting held in the Gujarati Samaj, a guest house in Jaipur (where they had checked in using fake names) on October 31, 2005, in which six other functionaries of the organisation were also present. Those who allegedly attended the meeting with Indresh were Sunil Joshi, Lokesh Sharma, Ramji Kalsangara, Shivam Dhakad, Samandar, Sandeep Dange and Pragya Singh. In the meeting Indresh allegedly told them to pose as members of religious groups while visiting various cities for planning blasts. This is the diabolical plan that has rocked the various cities in the country during the decade. And this is how meticulously RSS provides “guidance” in a conspiracy hatched by radical elements for planting bombs in cities across the country.
The ATS also claimed that during Ujjain Kumbh Mela in 2004, RSS grassroots members suggested that a blast be planned at Ajmer dargah. All the accused along with other RSS members present then decided to trigger blasts at Muslim religious places across the country. And this is what the world has witnessed viz. blasts at Muslim religious places in Jalna, Parbhani, Nanded, Malegaon, Hyderabad, Ajmer, etc. at various points of time during the decade.
The Rajasthan Muslim Forum has taken exception to the ATS, and rightly so, not naming the RSS the mastermind behind the blast, in which three persons were killed, despite the “clear evidence” of the involvement of one of its senior leaders and other office-bearers emerging in the chargesheet. The Forum also demanded that the ATS reinvestigate the Jaipur blasts, in the light of the new evidence it unearthed. It was “increasingly becoming evident” that the youth facing trial in the case were innocent and the real culprits were still at large.
The enormity of the case can be gauged with the fact that besides the Rajasthan Muslim Forum, UP Congress Committee (UPCC) has asked the Central and state governments to monitor RSS activities and ban the organisation if its activities could not be controlled. Joshi said either RSS, BJP or their offshoots were involved in most of the communal riots. The RSS, the UPCC alleged, is destroying unity of the country so its activities should remain under scanner.
This is high time the Union Government as well as State Governments devised the ways to curb the fascist pace of Hindutva outfits so that the innocent youth suffering behind the bars for no fault of theirs might get justice, the real culprits might be brought to the book and the country might be saved from the danger of terrorism.
