Jamaat-e-Islami Hind has expressed intense grief and distress over the incident of desecration of the Holy Qur’ānin Rudrapur, Uttarakhand. While vociferously condemning the incompetence of administration and barbarism of police, the Jamaat demanded immediate action against the guilty police officers who opened fire at Muslims.

Jamaat’s Secretary General, Mr.Nusrat Ali, in a press statement, said the brutal killing of Muslims in Rudrapur and the role of the police being a silent witness to the destruction of the properties of Muslims of the area, point out to the communal nature of the police. The Jamaat leader said that whether it is Bihar’s Forbesganj, or Rajasthan’s Gopalgarh or the present Uttarakhand’s Rudrapur Killings, all the incidents reveal that our states are oblivious to the problems of the Muslim community, and uncover the police’s brutal character.  The Jamaat leader said the behaviour of the government and administration is causing hindrance to the path of the nation’s advancement and prosperity and is spoiling the solidarity and brotherhood in the society.

The Jamaat leader appealed to the people of the country to adopt a sincere and collective struggle, without disrupting country’s peace. The Jamaat leader also sympathised with the families of the deceased and those affected in the incident.
