Union Minister for Minority Affairs Abdur Rehman Antulay said that Sachar Committee Report is likely to be discussed in the next Parliament session. The Sachar Report includes 44 recommendations and 32 proposals which have been approved by the U.P.A government. However, three of the recommendations were not accepted, Antulay said while responding to a question raised by C.P.M leader Hannan Mulla and other parliamentarians in a brief discussion.
Mr Antulay however did not disclose which three recommendations of the Sachar Committee were not accepted.
While speaking on the minority status of Jamia Millia Islamia, he expressed his views that he has been supporting the minority institution personally as it deserves the rights of minority but the case related to the minority institution of the university is under the consideration of a Commission “so I can hardly say anything about it,” he further added. Mr Antulay also revealed that Maulana Azad Education Foundation’s fund has been increased from this year up to 250 crore annually.
