Cold waves in northern Indian states affect hundreds of thousands of homeless and displaced people each year. The Society of Bright Future (SBF) engages with the poor community during winters under its Winter Relief Programme. The programme was launched by SBF with the aim of providing relief for the needy from the winter disaster ‘cold waves’. The beneficiaries are provided with blankets and quilts to survive the harshness of winters across the northern Indian states. The SBF divisions all over India have successfully distributed 1.8 lakh blankets and quilts during the last 10 years.
This year, the Winter Relief Project 2021-22 was started on November 1. To kick-start, the distribution of blankets, a largescale programme was organised in Delhi, wherein 100 blankets were distributed. The programme was held at the main RWA Office in Abul Fazal Enclave part I, New Delhi on November 18. Many prominent guests including the President of Himalaya Drugs, Dr. Syed Farooq; Dr. S. Ameenul Hasan, Vice President, JIH; Mr. Shafi Madani, Treasurer, SBF were present as chief guests, who blessed us with their precious words, appreciating SBF’s activities.
The programme came to an end with the distribution of blankets to the needy.
SBF India also plans to organise a similar programme at Ahmedabad, Gujarat on November 28. This project, however, will be continued till January 31, 2022.
