More than a dozen socio-political organisations under the banner of Lok Raj Sangathan demonstrated a protest march from Mandi House to Jantar Mantar to mark the 27th anniversary of the demolition of Babri Masjid on 6 December. The participants of the demonstration expressed resentment against the final Ayodhya verdict and demanded strict punishment for those guilty of Babri Masjid demolition.

Dr. S.Q.R Ilyas, president Welfare Party of India, while addressing the massive gathering, said that 27 years have passed but the culprits of the Babri Masjid demolition have not been punished despite the Supreme Court has termed demolition act as illegal. We would like to repeat our demand after the SC has asked the CBI to pursue the case immediately. The demolition is a blot in the history of India. If they are not punished then there would be a question mark on the independent identity of Judiciary. The verdict of the Supreme Court has proved that majoritarianism will rule the roost. Today we have filed five review petitions and one more was filed by Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind three days back. There are many errors in the judgment; therefore, the SC should accept the review petitions so that justice is done. If it is not accepted, the minorities would believe that the Supreme Court has come under the pressure of majoritarianism.

Malik Moatasim Khan, National Secretary JIH, said, December 6 was a black spot in the Indian history and the SC had the opportunity to wipe out that spot through justice in the Babri Masjid case. Not getting justice in the Babri Masjid case is not only defeat of Muslims but also defeat of Hindu brothers and defeat of India. In this case Muslims, Hindus and the whole country was defeated while Hindutva became victorious. People are saying that the Muslims are in peace but the basis of this peace is not justice but tolerance. If we want peace then Justice should be the basis.

Dr Tasleem Ahmed Rehmani, founder President of Muslim Political Council, said, the Mandir built by the oppressors, hooligans with power and aggression will never be considered a Mandir of Ram but a Mandir of goons. We will pass it to our coming generations to keep on demanding and protesting as long as the Babri Masjid is not built again at its site.

Representatives of Welfare Party of India, Popular Front of India, United Muslim Forum, Citizens for Democracy, Muslim Majlis-e Mushawarat, Delhi, Campus Front of India, Communist Ghadar Party of India, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, CPI(ML), NCHRO, New Democratic Party of India, Mazdoor Ekta Committee, Women India Movement, Social Democratic Party of India, Purogami Mahila Sangathan, Lokpaksh, SIO, National Women Front, All India Imams Council and the Sikh Forum were also present during the protest march.
