Ashok Agarwal, president All India Parents Association, on 5 April, wrote to the Education Minister, Government of NCT of Delhi, regarding denial of admission to three Muslim girls by the government school of Patparganj, Delhi. According to the letter, the school denied admission to NasimaKhatoon D/o Mohd Mustafa, Shenaj D/o SadrayAlam and Jasmeen D/o Aslam as there was no vacancy in the school. “It is a very serious matter.  Even after 65 years of independence and three years of RTE Act, 2009, the Government Schools are still not sensitive and child-friendly,” reads the letter addressed to Dr.KiranWalia, Education Minister of Delhi. It further said, “It appears that the Government is least interested in the education of the children belonging to the minority community like Muslims, otherwise it would not have happened.”
