Bhadra, Rajasthan, Mar. 2: A shocking incident has come to light from the Government Senior Secondary School in Bhadi village of Bhadra tehsil in Hanumangarh district. It is alleged that alcohol was mixed with cold drinks and served to Class 12 students during a farewell party organized for them.

The incident has angered the villagers, who gathered at the school on Tuesday to protest. Following the complaints from the villagers, senior officials from the education department visited the school on Wednesday and assured the villagers of appropriate action.

Ramanuj Bhardwaj, Block Education Officer, Bhadra said that a team has been constituted to investigate the matter.

Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Rajasthan president Muhammad Nazimuddin has condemned this incident. In a statement today, he said, “Schools play an important role in imparting education and values. If students are served alcohol there, they will be led to evil and their future will be ruined. That the incident took place in the presence of teachers is a matter of even greater concern.”

He also demanded a fair inquiry into the incident and strict action against the accused so that such incidents do not recur in future.
