SCIENTIFIC PURPOSE OF IRAN’S SATELLITE

Government of Iran Spokesman Gholam-Hossein Elham dismissed Western concern over Iran’s first domestic satellite, saying it has no military application. “The launch of Omid (Hope) satellite into orbit is totally scientific and has nothing to do with military purposes. Remarks which are made by certain countries are aimed at diverting Iran from its way,” Elham said. Iran is moving forward in scientific fields at high speed. The spokesman noted that Iran acts in accordance with the principles of justice, human dignity, respect for countries’ independence and equality of governments. He added that enemies made accusations against Iran that its nuclear programme has military purposes.
