Things have not returned to normal in Moradabad as yet. The communal riots that erupted in the city during the month of Ramadhan, on August 9 to be exact, caused many people to flee away from the area. However even after three weeks of the incident many have not yet returned to their homes and are still in the missing list. The festival of Eid has gone by, but many mothers and wives are longing for their sons and husbands.
The DIG of the area, in conversation with the Imam, gave assurance and expressed full police support in the task of searching for the missing people. Rukhsana, a resident of Jantipur village in Moradabad, whose 12-year-old son went missing from the day violence erupted, is running from pillar to post to get any information about the whereabouts of his son, but to no avail. She even met Mr. Hakeem SayyadMasoom Ali Azad with her grievance and broke down while narrating to him that his son went outside to fetch some products but never returned. Rukhsana is a widow, with two little children to fend for, while his eldest son aged 12 is missing. Rukhsana went to police stations and urged the policemen to help her but all her efforts have so far been in vain, she even wanted to check the jails to find her missing son but was not allowed to do so. The Imam however has given Rukhsana assurance that he will put this matter with the higher officials and would ask them to take some necessary actions that would result in finding his missing son at the earliest.
