It refers to media-reports indicating Delhi Police having filed consent-report in the court for accepting demand of Suresh Kalmadi and some other hi-fi convicts for taking them to courts in a separate police-van for ‘security-reasons’! Are convicts taken to courts from jail not searched properly for their having some object which can cause injury to fellow-convicts in the same van? Are police-persons not accompanying the jail-van taking convicts to courts? Scuffles can also be there among other non hi-fi or celebrity convicts. Such a demand by hi-fi convicts and its approval by Delhi Police exhibit clearly that such hi-fi and celebrity convicts get unusual VVIP status in name of ‘security-reasons’ which is not appropriate.
