These are the claims of SR Darapuri, former Inspector General of Police, Uttar Pradesh in a press conference in Lucknow on 20 May. He claimed that he had seen many a similar incidence during 32 years of his job. Commenting on the custodial death of Khalid Mujahid, the retired officer claimed that his colleague, Vikram Singh had demanded Rs 0.5 million from the two and promised them to release. And when they could not arrange the extortion money, the officer implicated them in various blast cases.
