Shamim Qaisar, a retired officer of Indian Revenue Services, has been appointed new chairman of Central Haj Committee in a meeting held at India Islamic Culture, New Delhi on 22 May. Noorul Islam and Mohd.Marghoob have been elected as vice-chairmen. In his post-election speech, Mr.Qaisar said his only aim was to provide better facilities for the pilgrims. Among others who attended the meeting was AR Ghanshyam, Joint Secretary at External Affairs Ministry, Dr.Shakir Hussain, CEO Hajj Committee, Vivek Jetis, Under Secretary.
