Apropos of the new theory about the origin of the Indians (North Indians related to Siberians, Deccan Chronicle, 19 September). I recall a Government of Tamilnadu publication entitled “the History of Tamilnadu” which described that Dravidians too came from “Central Asia” before the Aryans. The proof the author gave was a tribe in Baluchistan professes the same cultural traditions as those of the Dravidians. Some years back the Mangolian Ambassador to India came to Hyderabad. He also stated that Mangolians have racial connections with the Indian people. A speaker of the Sangh Parivar agreed with him and described Mangolia as the seventh kingdom of the Vedic Era. I do not know the reaction of Dr. Subramanian Swamy, who some days before described that the DNA of Najma Heptulla’s blood would attest that she is a Hindu ‘genetically’.

Unicef Award For Helping Out Riot Hit Kids

After the series of communal violence in Uttar Pradesh and particularly in Muzaffarnagar riots parents of both the communities were frightened and had stopped their children to attend schools. But thanks to the noble efforts of a 14-year old Abhishek who took the plunge and made it his mission to send the children back to schools. In order to honour his commitment for setting a fine example of communal harmony, the Uttar Pradesh government has conferred upon him the Meena Ratan Award, given jointly by Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan and Unicef.

Let’s Learn a Lesson from Jinping

We should take lesson and moral boosting from Chinese president Xi Jinping who met Manorama Kotnis, sister of Dr. Dwarkanath Kotnis, to present “Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence Friendship” award for contribution of Indian physician who had died serving Chinese soldiers during the second China war in 1942. It has become a tradition with all visiting Chinese leaders to meet the family of Dr. Dwarkanath Kotnis.

In close proximity of that event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in an interview: “Indian Muslims will live for India, they will die for India – they will not want anything bad for India.”

Muslims in India stood shoulder to shoulder with Indian freedom fighters to protect our Nation from foreign aggression and sacrificed their life. Tipu Sultan and Commander Abdul Hamid were the examples but till today Muslims are being suspected and every time asked to prove their loyalty to the Nation. The statement of Prime Minister to CNN news channel about Muslim loyalty towards our nation is moral boosting to unite we Indians as One Community and One Nation. It gives moral boosting to Muslims, particularly Muslim youth to live and die for the Nation.
