RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat said in Pune that if India wants to become Vishwa Guru, we must shun contentious religious issues. He stressed that India’s past might have had some negative issues, but India should now avoid such issues.

Referring to the temples versus mosques issues, he said “that Ram temple was an exception. But raising such issues frequently is not advisable”. He suggested that such issues create extreme hatred, malice, enmity and suspicion.

Mr. Bhagwat is the patron of the ruling BJP. Let us hope that the BJP and other affiliates will accept histimely advice.

A statesman is one who learns from history and a politician is one who misuses history. Every sincere Indian citizen is deeply concerned about the steadily deteriorating standards of our political narratives.

We had the distinction of having great leaders who were men of principles. Who had deep love for the land and wished well for every citizen. They were selfless servants of India. Special mention may be made to Mahatma Gandhi. He was a true follower of Ahimsa (Non-Violence). He is undoubtedly the greatest leader India has ever produced in the recent times. He lived for India and died for India. Nehru, Rajendra Prasad, Maulana Azad etc. were Gandhi’s true followers. As long as they were at the helm of affairs, India was moving forward on the path of peace and prosperity. These visionary leaders laid the foundations of India on strong moral grounds.

Unfortunately, degradation started to enter politics. Hindutva protagonists have neither a clear vision nor a comprehensive policy. They pose a grave danger to the integrity, security and prosperity of India. They have endangered the democratic and federal system of India. Entry of selfish and criminal elements in our polity is another big danger for our democracy.

We have seen that the worst period of Indian politics started in 2014 when BJP succeeded in capturing power in the centre. They believe in using Hindutva as a weapon. Their basic policy is to present Muslims as a vital danger to India. This has produced fear, suspicion, ill will, rancour and all other negative sentiments in the masses. The majority of Hindus is composed of good and gentle citizens. But because of the poisonous propaganda more Hindu brethren are seeing Muslims as a burden and danger for India. Anation raised on false perceptions and mutual enmity can never prosper. Add to this false promises and crony capitalism, the recipe for destruction is complete. Having failed on all fronts they are basing their policies on hatred of Muslims. This is bound to produce disastrous results. Digging of mosques and wells should be seen in this context.

Bhagwat’s sincere advice should be taken as a warning for the ruling party. The writing on the wall is clear that crony capitalism and corruption must end. No compromise on rule of law. No committed or communal judges. Rule of law must be upheld without fear or favour. Judiciary should not dance to the tunes of the ruling party. It must be fair and fearless.

If the BJP loves the country and wants India to prosper, it must stop all communal propaganda. It should take a vow that it would not hate anyone. It should base its policy on love all, respect everyone and do not discriminate. It must understand that it is not the only repository of desh prem (love of land).

The 145 crore citizens are fed up with the divisive policies. The time is running out. If they don’t change their ways, they will end their days. Sangh sarchalak’s clarion call must be taken as the last warning.
