Protesting against the Israeli attacks on Gaza, Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) took out a rally at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi on December 29. Dr. Zafarul Islam Khan, Pesident All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat, addressed the gathering. He underlined the gravity and height of inhumanity of the Israeli attack by referring to the fact that a serious economic blockade was already going on in Gaza.
Rafiq Ahmed, Assistant Secretary Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, said that Israel has indulged in terrible violation of human rights by killing innocent civilians through deadly weapons. Yet the world community, especially the USA and its western allies are ignoring these inhuman acts shamelessly.
Sajjad of AISA while condemning Bush and Olmert held the Arab nations accountable for their attitude towards Israel.
Shahnawaz Ali Raihan, National Secretary, SIO, talked about the history of the Palestinian conflict and oppression by Israel. He articulated that America’s crime is that it is not only supplying weapons to Israel but also used to supply ideological support to Israel through media, propaganda and vetoes in UN Security Council, etc. The civil society should counter these false propaganda and create awareness about the truth.
