The DMK president and chief minister of Tamil Nadu,M.K.Stalin,in a letter to DMK organ Murasoli recently, said that his party would face the special intensive revision (SIR) to be commenced by the Election Commission of India in Tamil Nadu legally as well as on the ground by standing with the people. He said the SIR is an attempt by the BJP to win the 2026 Assembly election in Tamil Nadu by snatching awaythe voting rights of the workingclass, Scheduled Castes, minorities and women.

The DMK party cadre should monitor the SIR to protect the rights of the people. He recalled that DMK had appealed to the ECI to drop the SIR process and give sufficient time and follow appropriate guidelines if they wanted to revise the electoral rolls.TheSIR had been started despite the objections and the DMKhas the strength to face it legally as well as on the ground by standing with the people.

The Misuse Rather Abuse of AI

On October 27, a shocking incident hit the headlines. A 19-year-old B.Com student from Old Faridabad’s Baselwa Colony died from AI deepfakes. A police version says that he had fallen into a deadly trap after two unidentified individuals allegedly hacked his phone and began blackmailing him with AI-generated morphed photos and videos of his sisters. This is the misuse rather misuse of AI app.

Every useful thing can be misused. AI tools are useful in many ways. It depends on the user to use it for the benefit of humanity or for its destruction.

Pak-Afghan War:  Whose Blood Spills?

A few days ago, a war of attrition erupted between Pakistan and Afghanistan resulting in the loss of160 soldiers, including three Afghan cricketers and huge properties both sides in the four-day war. It has hurt the sentiment of the Muslims who are conscious of peace and unity of the community. I would not pass comment on who is right, who is wrong and who has won the war? But I would like to ask: “Whose blood spills in the war? Who is pleased with this war”?

In fact, Islam has prioritised the importance of peace and reconciliation among Muslims as it teaches that all Muslims form a single brotherhood as stated in the Qur’an: “The believers are but a single brotherhood; so, make peace and reconciliation between your two (contending) brothers”(49:10). Even settling a dispute between two Muslims is considered more meritorious than prayer, charity and fast in Islam. When a dispute arises between two Muslims, it should be referred to for its solution as prescribed in the Islamic law. The Qur’an states: “If ye differ in anything among yourselves, refer it to Allah and His prophet, if ye believe in Allah and the Last Day. This is best and most suitable for final determination’.’(4: 59)

What is most important to be noted here is that killing of an innocent Muslim is an unpardonable sin in Islam. The Qur’an announces: “If a man kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is the hell to abide therein forever and the wrath and the curse of Allah will fall upon him and a grievous penalty is prepared for him. (4:93) If it is so, how does a Muslim can kill his brother in the battlefield? Will the despots killing many innocent Muslims in some Muslim and non-Muslim countries now pay heed to the above-cited Qur’anic verse?
