Society for Bright Future, a National Level NGO working for disaster management, reached Nepal on 1 May, 2015 and stayed there for four days. In the meantime, SBF coordinator visited many places to take stock of damages and losses.
A delegation of Society for Bright Future led by Mr. Irfan Ahmed, SBF National Coordinator, visited the earthquake affected areas (damaged and semi-damaged) villages, towns and districts in Nepal. The visited places are Sindhupal Chowk District, Thoro Siwari Village, Chawtara Town, Navalpur Village, Lalitpur District, Sidhipur District, Bakhtpur, Banepa, Gorkha, Naubise Village, Mahadeo Besi Village, Adamghat Village, Ghading District and many other small villages. Society for Bright Future has decided to adopt Benighat Village, District Gorkha for rehabilitation work.
Benighat Village is having more than 200 houses: 80 houses fully damaged, 90 houses semi-damaged and 30 houses have minor cracks. The village has a mixed population of Muslims, Hindus and Christians.
Initially, a team of Society for Bright Future led by Mr. Irfan Ahmad reached Kathmandu. The team met with other Relief Organisations (NGOs) and started relief and rehabilitation work immediately after reaching Kathmandu. Later, it also visited and started working in other highly earthquake affected areas such as Hanuman Dhoka, Basantpur, Dharhara, etc. SBF also carried medicines along with themselves for the earthquake victims which they distributed in many villages through several medical camps.
