A group of Muslim leaders of the Samajwadi Party demanded expulsion of senior leader Amar Singh from the party, accusing him of damaging the interests of the organisation.  “Mulayam Singh Yadav should accept the resignation of Singh from party posts and expel him from the party,” SP MLA from Amroha Mehboob Ali told the reporters. Ali said Singh has damaged the credibility of the party and is not accessible to the leaders. On Yadav ruling out accepting Singh’s resignation, the MLA said the SP Chief was yet to discuss the issue at a party platform. Others who demanded Singh’s expulsion included MLAs Iqbal Mehmood from Sambal and Sahid Manzoor from Kithor in Meerut district, SP’s youth wing president from Meerut Wasim Raja and former district president of Moradabad unit Javed Khan.
