Brutal killing of DSP Ziaul Haque in Uttar Pradesh is an example of how political goons use the administrators and so in their favour. And when they refuse to be their complicit or rather do their job honestly, the khaki-clad politicians misuse rather abuse their power to put the “hurdle” aside. Mr. Haque has paid for his honesty and thus he has become a martyr. There are officers in bee-line who would not hesitate at all sacrificing their lives for the sake of honesty and truth. Giving an honorary post of OSD to his widow seems like a lolly-pop consolation. There is no way it can return her husband back. What is real tribute to the martyr and actual salutation to his honesty is to stop other honest officials becoming prey of these political goons.
