After seeing the tamasha in the Parliament, in the name of debate over the Liberhan Commission report, the whole nation understands that all of those who were indicted in the Babri Masjid demolition by Mr. Liberhan would go unpunished. That, Mr. P.V. Narasimha Rao who played the modern-day Nero on December 6, 1992 was not given even a taunt by the one-man commission was reason enough, to say that the report is prejudiced. The inaccuracies in the report – like the name of the former President of India quoted as ‘A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Azad’ and the date of Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination stated as ‘January 31’ – though seem to be trivial – indicate the lackadaisical manner in which the whole inquiry was conducted. It is sad that a huge tax-payers’ money of Rs.8 Cr has gone down the drains and the precious time of the parliament is wasted in the name of debate. It is high time the political parties stopped misleading the nation in the garb of enquiry commissions.
