Sudan towards Civil War?

Even if the shooting stops, the conflict which erupted in the capital of Sudan, will leave a deep wound among the Sudanese. Sudan has fallen into the dilemma of having two weapons in one country amid the military’s lust for power.

For weeks at the end of 2018 and the beginning of 2019, the world was preoccupied with the occurrences of Sudan. At that time, it was hoped that it was on its way to getting rid of a totalitarian and repressive rule. Many thought that this would be the last suffering of Sudan, and that they would recover from the stumbling blocks. However, the Sudanese movement continued till this day.

The heated conflict has erupted between two military sections, which is a product of the old regime. The civilians have also failed more than once. Each civilian side wants to take over without recognising the other. This is the crux of the Sudanese dilemma, both civilian and military.

The Sudanese social network is very well prepared to receive this kind of “deferred” thought and deconstruction behaviour, which did not leave a place for development, progress and stability.

The disease which Sudan suffers from is the result of the failure in establishing a modern state. This is because of their refusal to recognise pluralism (ethnic, regional and economic). Despite the enormous economic potential available to Sudan, it failed in managing resources for which the Sudanese elites are directly responsible and nothing else, both military and civilian.

Black Cleopatra?

Do film and serial makers have the right to tamper with known history and channel it according to their ideological and political aspirations?

Recently, controversy arose about a “documentary” which the Netflix platform intends to make about the ancient and famous Egyptian queen “Cleopatra”, and through the images which appeared about it. The Egyptian queen appears to have black African features and skin in this documentary. “Netflix” has announced that this series of documentaries will be released on May 10.

The film is supported by male and female activists from the American black movement, in counter-racism in favour of blacks. It is falsification and tampering with history, and “blackening” it.

In the latest film on Cleopatra, Mostafa Waziri, Secretary General of Egypt’s Supreme Council of Antiquities, said that the appearance of the heroine in this form is a distortion of Egyptian history, particularly, since the film is classified as a documentary rather than a drama.

Dr. Nasser Makkawi, head of the Egyptian Antiquities Department at the Faculty of Archaeology, Cairo University, also told Al-Arabiya.net that the appearance of Cleopatra in this film and in this form contradicted the simplest historical facts, and the writings of historians such as Plutarch and Diocassius, who recorded the Roman history in Egypt during the reign of Queen Cleopatra.

It is possible to accept this absurdity only if it is presented in the comic form or as history fiction, provided that it is made clear to the viewers.
