The Sunni Central Waqf Board has recently filed its reply in Teela Wali Masjid in Lucknow against a writ petition in the civil court of Lucknow, challenging the title suit of the historical Masjid. In its affidavit, the Board has stated that the blame levelled against the mosques is a plethora of lies apart from being it against the Bill passed in 1991 regarding places of worship. The next hearing will be on 10 September. Advocates Mohiuddin and Afzal Siddiqee, after filing the affidavit said that nothing other than a mosque has ever existed on the land and the claim that the mosque had been built after demolishing a temple has no ground. Earlier, a writ petition filed by VK Shrivastaw and 9 others has stated the place had belonged to Lakshman and was illegally occupied by the Mughals.
