Soon after the war of attrition erupted between US-Israel and Iran, some Ulama in Bangladesh have begun criticising Shia Muslims as Kafirs (unbelievers) and the present Iranian regime as un-Islamic. Although there exist some negligible differences between the two concerning their beliefs, those make no one Kafir as per Islam. Islam is based on three basic beliefs: Tauheed (Oneness of God), Risalat (prophethood) and Akhirah(life after death). Shias firmly maintain and nurture these beliefs as Sunnis do. So, both Sunni and Shia are equally considered Muslims in Islam. To speak the truth, Shias are now spilling more bloods than that of Sunnis for Islam and Muslims in the world. If Iran had not stood by Gaza, a Sunni state, it would already lose its existence to Israel.
Since the early days of Islam, a deep collusion has been engineered by some Jews, Christians and Mushriks(polytheists) aiming to create feud and discord among Muslims so that it weakens Muslim power, enabling them to lord over Muslims in the world. The Qur’an warns: “O ye who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors. They are but the friends and protectors to each other (5:51)’’.
Denying the Qur’an 5:51, Arab governments formed on the bases of monarchism and undemocratic way has allowed military bases to US armies in their respective lands, thereby exhibiting its friendship, loyalty and slavery to the US which is evermore hatching collusions how to destabilise the Muslim world, how to exploit its resources and finally how to wipe out Islam from the world. Shia Muslims have understood it, promoting them to fight the enemies of Islam for protecting Islam and Muslims. Former Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah RuhullahKhameni sought Muslim unity with his slogan: La Shia, la Sunni, nahnuMuslimun (we are neither Shia nor Sunni but Muslims).

Merits of Islamic inheritance
Reading the erudite letter entitled “Merits of Islamic inheritance” by Muhammad Abdus Samad (Radiance 08-14 March2026), I have realised that if Muslims justly follow Islamic inheritance as ordained by Allah in Islam while distributing one’s wealth and property left after his death among his legal and near heirs , it would surely abolish capitalism and monarchism consuetude especially in Arab lands resulting in socio-economic justice needed for peace and prosperity in a society. Thus Islam highlights merits of Islamic inheritance.

Baiting Muslims for Votes
Recently I was reading an article titled “Racial attack on Northeast people has govt.’s attention. What about Muslims?” by Mr. Vir Sanghvi, an eminent print and television journalist and talk show host.
The learned writer has analysed how different sections of society are subjected to hateful racial abuse, sectarian slurs hurled at them and accused of possessing loose morals. He has also dealt with how Muslims are being victimised. Please allow me to share a few paragraphs therefrom for the knowledge of learned readers of Radiance. Paragraphs are as under.
“Baiting Muslims for votes: The largest number of victims of identity-based abuse in India are Muslims. And in their case, the abuse is increasing. More than at any point in the past two decades, they are made to feel like inferior beings – treated with suspicion and their Indianness and loyalty are constantly challenged.
“In this case, the abuse comes from people at the top, and nobody is willing to do anything about it. For some politicians, baiting and insulting Muslims is a political stunt, a way of winning votes from communal Hindus.” (Source: The NewsTrail Daily, Bengaluru, dated Feb. 28, 2026)
