The whole world is following the tragic developments in Aleppo, Syria – the unspeakable massacres, an affront to humanity recorded by history in its blackest pages of brutality. Bitter moments and hours passed heavily as all free men and women watched in horror, weighing painfully on their conscience, said a statement of Muslim Brotherhood on 13 December.

The statement said, “These massacres exterminating the people of Syria for their aspiration to freedom are a message to all our peoples, warning us not to claim our rights or seek freedom. But – by the Grace of God – they will not break our resolve nor our determination. They will not deter us from continuing to resist tyranny or looking forward to a blessed tomorrow in which our peoples will enjoy their right to freedom and dignity.

“We say to the people of the world – loud and clear: The direct support provided by Russia and other powers, and the collusion by many states and institutions in helping the tyrants and dictators and supporting their regime, will not be forgotten by the people nor overlooked by generations to come.

“Today, we can say that international and regional institutions, particularly the United Nations and the Arab League – and similar – have certainly lost their credibility, after losing their role and objectives as they failed the people of Syria.

“Now, we urge Arab and Muslim peoples and the honourable peoples of the world to join hands and together resist injustice and oppression and establish the right of peoples to freedom and dignity as humanity stands on a fateful crossroads, facing a tragic destiny: act now, before it is too late.
