Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) president G.M. Banatwalla has called upon the Union Government to table Justice Ranganath Misra Commission Report in the coming Budget Session of Parliament and provide reservation for Muslims.
“It is almost one year since Justice Ranganath Misra Commission Report was submitted to the Government but the Government is yet to make it public,” Banatwalla lamented while addressing the presspersons at Amravati on February 1.
The IUML leader stressed that mere sporadic reactions to tragic incidents are not enough; the Government should take sincere action to ensure justice and equal opportunity for all.
He also called upon Muslims to build up continuous political pressure to influence Government policies on development.
He also called upon the Government of Maharashtra to address the grievances of Muslim victims of partial police action in the various parts of the State.
Besides Amravati, Banatwalla along with his party colleagues visited Bednera, Achalpur, Akola, Lohara, Shehgaon, Khamgaon and Nandura.
Visiting riot affected Achalpur and Khamgaon, Banatwalla expressed sympathies with the affected families and reviewed the relief work being done by IUML workers.
