A 16-year-old Muslim boy was stabbed to death in East Delhi’s Trilokpuri area, with his family alleging that he was targeted despite having no role in any prior dispute, reported Meer Faisal for The Observer Post.
The victim, Ayaan Saifi, balanced his studies with supporting his mother. The attack took place near a local park in a densely populated locality.Family members and eyewitnesses alleged that a group of 6-8 men entered the park armed with knives and chased Ayaan before attacking him. They said he suffered multiple stab wounds to his back, stomach, and legs.
Relatives claimed the attack was linked to an earlier dispute involving another individual. They said Ayaan had no connection to the issue. “He had no enmity with anyone,” a family member said.
Ayaan was taken to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital in critical condition. According to the family, he regained consciousness briefly and named several attackers in a statement recorded by police.
The family alleged that he had received threats earlier and that a complaint had been filed months ago without action. They also claimed that instead of arresting suspects, police detained some of Ayaan’s relatives.
Residents in the area reported fear following the incident. Some pointed to recent clashes among local youth.
Police have registered a case and begun an investigation. Officials have not confirmed the motive.
The family has demanded swift action. “We want justice,” a relative said.
