In a tragic incident, two young boysnamed Abhay Waghmare (17) and Zaki Bilal Shaikh (20) were electrocuted after climbing onto a DJ truck and waving a flag affixed to an iron rod on September 22. The tragedy occurred when the flag came into contact with a high-voltage power line. Waghmare died on the spot, while Shaikh was rushed to a hospital in serious condition. Despite the best efforts made by the medical staff, the latter succumbed to his injuries later in the day.
The irony is that this was an Eid-e-Milad procession in Pune’s Wadgaon Sheri area to mark the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. This is an irony because the DJ playing, carrying flags and raising slogans on the occasion of Eid-e-Miladare out and out un-Islamic. The history of Islam, including the Seerah of the Prophet as well as the practice and tradition of the Companions does not testify such senseless practices.
Th Muslim organisations as well as the administration should impose a ban on DJ playing, carrying flags and raising slogans on such sacred occasions. The administration should also not permit the organisations to take out such processions in the name of religion.

Kudos to the Supreme Court
In recent observations, the Supreme Court of India has come down upon the practice of bulldozer action being taken in different States of the country. On October 1, the apex court said India is a secular country and removal of illegal structures should not be on the basis of religion. The bench comprising Justice BR Gavai and Justice KV Viswanathan also made it clear that the violation of its guidelines will amount to contempt of court.
A day earlier, on September 30, the Supreme Court, while hearing a contempt petition filed by 47 residents of Assam, directed the Assam government to maintain status quo on Assam’s Sonapur demolition drive and also issued notice to the concerned authorities in this regard. The order came after 47 residents of the Sonapur area of Assam had filed a contempt petition alleging violation of the top court’s interim order dated September 17 putting a ban on the demolition practice across the country without prior permission till October 1. “Issue notice. In the meantime, parties to maintain the status quo,” the top court said.
We hope the top court would give the nation detailed guidelines on the bulldozer action being practiced selectively to harass, subjugate and financially cripple the members of the Muslim community.

Hezbollah toContinue to Resist
Israel’s mindless military operations in Lebanon, following its yearlong genocide in Gaza, has been criticized worldwide. On the other hand, the Hezbollah resistance movement has expressed that it will become stronger in resistance against Israeli atrocities. A member of the Hezbollah Political Council has vowed that resistance against Israel will continue, stating that the Israeli occupation forces will face a serious defeat if they launch a ground invasion into Lebanon.
Mahmoud Qomati told Al Mayadeen that southern Lebanon “will become a graveyard for the occupation forces,” stressing Hezbollah’s preparedness with a vast arsenal of weapons and trained fighters.
Qomati warned further that Hezbollah’s allies in the Axis of Resistance “will intervene if the battle expands.” He reaffirmed Hezbollah’s unwavering support for Gaza, stating that no conditions would be accepted before a ceasefire and that no initiative would be considered until that happened.
If, in all its utter foolishness, Israel expands the Gaza war to Lebanon, its consequences will be different from what it expects.
