Marking the 79th Independence Day, the All India Unani Tibbi Congress (Delhi) organised a grand programme at Beriwala Bagh in New Delhi. Addressing the gathering, the General Secretary of All India Unani Tibbi Congress, Dr. Syed Ahmad Khan, said that “the true meaning of Independence Day is the prosperity of every individual in the country.”
He added that governance based on justice and the assurance of good health guarantees the well-being of all. While the establishment of large hospitals provides reassurance, it does not necessarily ensure satisfactory treatment. Similarly, the slogan of “nutritious food” is indeed encouraging, but the availability of adulteration-free food is far more crucial. Dr. Khan further emphasised that Unani doctors should be made available at the block level so that people can benefit from the centuries-old tried and tested Unani system of medicine.
Highlighting the state of Unani medicine in Delhi, the State President of AIUTC-Delhi, Dr. Shakeel Ahmad, expressed hope that the step-motherly treatment given to Unani medicine in past decades would no longer continue. Senior Vice President of Delhi State, Dr. Mirza Asif Baig, remarked that the activities of AIUTC are commendable, particularly the regular and well-organised conduct of free Unani medical camps.Dr.Zakiuddin, former Deputy Director CCRUM, said disciplined and movement-oriented work creates impact.
