Ramadan, the month of Qur’an, the month of renovation of faith and rededication of lives, casts its light upon the world. This is the month in which believers renovate their faith in Almighty Allah, His Book, His Message, and rededicate their lives to Islam and renew commitment to lead their lives in the light of the Holy Qur’an and the golden traditions set by the last Messenger of God, Muhammad ﷺ.
This is the month of charity, spending in the way of God and helping the poor, the deprived and the underprivileged sections of society. This is the month in which we re-examine the conditions of the world and think about our role in reforming it and playing a proactive role in conveying the Divine message of One God and one humanity.
We find that the humanity is in turmoil and the world is falling apart. We see the rise of dictators, weakening of democratic values and violations of human rights. In this month we also think about the ideal role of the Muslim Ummah, which has been raised to present the best example of right thinking and rightly acting as the best model of the best community in thought and action. In this month of fasting and reflection, Muslims stand in long prayers in which the whole Qur’an is recited in special prayers called Tarawih.
The multicultural India is passing through a difficult period. We have a duty to make a plan to revive the spirit of Islam in the Muslim community to make it an ideal community which may organise itself for the desired change in the whole world.
Our first priority should be our own country India which is facing multiple moral, social, and economic problems. If we make the best use of our abilities and succeed in reviving our capabilities in this month with the help of prayers, Quranic readings and resulting blessings from Allah, we would enable ourselves to serve our country and change it into a constructive, beneficial and enlightened force in the world.
Come, let us seek help of the Beneficent Allah to enable us to do this duty for our dear country and the whole world. Further, we have to organise all Indian citizens to pave the way for a non-communal and non-fascist, truly democratic and all-inclusive dispensation. If we take even a few steps in this positive direction, it would be valuable for bringing a truly beneficial change in our country.
May Allah bless our country, our countrymen and all His servants spread all over the world to create a God-conscious, peaceful and humane world. Ya Allah, please accept our prayer in this month of blessings.All praise belongs to You.
