The existence of MuslimUmmah has a specific and exalted purpose. It is defined as Amr bilMa‘roof, Shahadat-e-Haqq or Iqamat-e-Dīn. However, despite the similarity of the meaning and intent, on deeper understanding of these three terms we find that the last expression (Iqamat-e-Dīn) surpasses the first two terms in comprehensiveness, depth and clarity. This hadith proves that the goal of the existence of Muslim Ummah is the establishment of Allah’s Dīn.

The term Iqamat-e-Dīn is comprised of two words: Iqamat and Dīn. The Iqamah(establishment) of Dīn means that its followers fulfil the due right of accepting it in both intellectual and practical capacities.

Dīn means the way of Allah’s obedience and the system of human life given by Allah to His servants through the Prophet ﷺto act upon, the details of which are present in His book and in the Sunnah of His Messenger.

This Dīn extends from the intellect and understanding of the human being and the depths of his heart, to his houses of worship and the four boundaries of his home, to the circles of his relatives and his cultural institutions and to the collective life, and imparts its continual guidance about every problem, every matter and every branch. It does not approve of any private life for a human being in which he is free to do as he wills.
