Authoritarianism and arrogance are the two crimes which are being committed brazenly, and on an ever-widening scale. Before the Assembly elections in UP and four other States voters should understand how the misgovernance of the present dispensation has doled out the entire ruling power to only one or at the most two persons. They are all in all of the present ruling party. Occasionally you come across some statements from Defence Minister and a few others. On the other hand we come across only the speeches and man ki baats of only two persons. They are India and India is equal to them.
Let us see the case of the three black farm laws. They were introduced through the backdoor of ordinance during the first wave of pandemic. They were bulldozed through voice vote without discussion in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. And quite strongly after one long year of protests and unfortunate deaths of more than 700 farmers at the doors of Indian capital they were repealed under mounting pressure. At time also no discussion was allowed in both houses to go into the demerits of the black laws. In this way the Parliament has been reduced to a house of rubber stamp personalities. All decisions are being taken by the two persons and are being implemented by the P.M. Office. People feel that the brute majority of BJP in Parliament has given unlimited power to it to bulldoze parliamentary democracy and its institutions.
We witness countless cases of arrogance on the part of the two rulers. The worst example again is in the case of farmers’ agitation. Our great P.M. did not speak a single word of sympathy for over 700 farmers who died on the altar of his arrogance.
It is the considered core policy of RSS and BJP to present Muslims as the fifth column and an unwanted burden on Indian shoulders. That is why worst communalists like Yati Narsinghanand and the people of his ilk are encouraged to spew communal venom against Muslims, Christians and Dalits. The belated action taken half-heartedly against Yati is the shining example of this policy. This was done after the intervention of the Supreme Court.
Storms of hate, fog of suspicion, atmosphere of fear and policies of intimidation being pursued by the ruling party have tarnished the honour of the country in the whole civilized world. India is being destroyed continuously and the Neros are fiddling happily.
In spite of its best intentions the judiciary is not being allowed to play its corrective role in the constitutional cases pending on its table and even habeas corpus cases have been thrown in the cold storage.
Ajit Doval, National Security Adviser, speaks openly about the war they want to wage against the civil society and its institutions. Wise people see UP’s battleground as the last ditch battle of people to throw out the agents of dictatorship, arrogance and atrocities. Are the voters ready for this battle?
