“But for those whom We had decided to favour with good reward, they shall be kept far removed from Hell. They shall not hear even a whisper of it, and they shall live for ever in the delights which they had desired. The Hour of the Great Terror shall not grieve them, and the angels shall receive them, saying: ‘This is your Day which you had been promised’.”
(Al-Qur’ān – 21:101-103)
These ayaat refer to the fortunate who followed the path of righteousness during their stay on earth. God has promised them safety from punishment and has assured their ultimate success and salvation.
When, in the Day of Judgement, all persons – from Adam to the last person on earth – appear before God for their reckoning, ordinary people will be seized by panic. As for the persons who cared to do righteous deeds and to stay away from the promptings of Satan, they will be relaxed and contented for things will proceed according to their very expectations. That treasure of faith and righteous deeds, of their love for doing good and virtue and of their utmost care to shun all that is evil, which accompanied their departure from this world will stand them in good stead; it will serve as a means of solace, will remove fear and grief from their hearts and give rise to the hope that they will soon be able to see the good results of their strivings on the path of One True God.
This will be their ultimate success and salvation.
